First responders bridge the critical phase in cardiovascular emergencies until the ambulance arrives. With our e-learning course, they quickly acquire the necessary knowledge – from raising the alarm and responding to the emergency to dealing with those affected, and the emergency services.

While many cantons rely on classroom-based courses to train first responders, these tend to be time consuming and tied to fixed dates.

E-learning offers greater flexibility to candidates who prefer to complete the basic course at their own pace and whenever they want. The online training is ideal for getting a large preparing many first responders ready for action quickly.

So far, around 250 first responders have completed the e-learning course.

Learning objectives

Future first responders know:

  • the origins and context of the first responder system
  • their rights and obligations, as well as the code of conduct
  • how to set up the mobile app for deployments
  • how an alert and a deployment are conducted and the proper behavior in such situations
  • the psychological aspects of a deployment
  • where to get support if needed

Target group

The course is aimed at individuals who have basic first-aid skills:

  • Laypersons with basic resuscitation skills
  • Emergency services professionals
  • Professionals with medical training

  • Module 1: First responder system

  • Module 3: Alerting and deployment
  • Module 4: After the deployment
