While landscapes and townscapes are constantly evolving, drastic changes are often only evident over time. Which makes it even more important to carefully plan how to integrate new elements into the existing landscape and architectural context. We assess the impact of construction projects on landscapes and townscapes, and plan measures for landscape-compatible solutions as part of municipal planning.
We have many years of extensive experience in the area of landscape preservation and the protection of local heritage sites – primarily in the following areas:
Assessment of the impact of projects on the landscape and townscape
We record the landscape and townscape-specific quality of an area and assess the impact of projects on the surroundings. To this end, we use both qualitative (e.g., visualizations) and quantitative methods (e.g., visibility analyses with geographic information systems – GIS).
Landscape preservation ancillary planning in projects
We identify measures to prevent adverse effects on the landscape and to support specific landscape elements and structures. We present the results in plans with supplemental visualizations or illustrations to make them clear, accessible and comprehensible.
Landscape development concepts
We devise landscape development concepts (LDCs) to preserve and promote typical local landscape structures, habitats and ecological networks.
Townscape protection in municipal planning
We support municipalities in developing spatial planning strategies, concepts, plans and codes that enable municipal development tailored to the local character, taking into account the contents of local character and monument inventories.
Through close cooperation with regional and local agencies, we adapt our work to local conditions, and collaborate to develop future-proofed landscapes and townscapes.
