EBP Brasil is working on a major revitalization project for the Pinheiros River, led by SABESP.

Our role in this project is to create a scenario representing how increased oxygenation of the Pinheiros River's waters favors an improvement in the river's environmental situation, reducing the pollution load and its consequent objectives.

To develop this scenario, a Pilot Project was implemented based on an international technology (SDOX®), which injects a supersaturated solution of dissolved oxygen into the river's waters through a continuous water recirculation process that generates no byproducts or waste, nor does it use chemicals, only oxygen. The objective of the technology is to degrade pollution through the oxidation of organic matter, and consequently, reduce odor and improve the environmental parameters of the Pinheiros River's waters.

The Pilot Project is located in the area of ​​the current Bruno Covas Park, between the Avenida Bandeirantes and Ponte Estaiada bridges.

EBP Brasil maintains a dedicated team of five professionals (in addition to a 3-person engineering team in the office) and provides remote supervision for analytical control, data evaluation, and management. Our responsibilities include:
- Operation of the oxygenation system;
- Monitoring 8 surface water points along a 5.5 km stretch of the river twice a week, in addition to continuous and permanent monitoring of 4 points along the supersaturated oxygen solution injection section;
- Issuing monthly operational and monitoring reports, and specific technical reports every six months.

As a general result, after implementing the set of actions to revitalize the Pinheiros River, we observed a significant improvement in water quality parameters in the study section, with an increase in dissolved oxygen and a decrease in biochemical oxygen demand, demonstrating the system's efficiency.

With the improved water quality of the Pinheiros River in this Pilot Project region, it was possible to implement improvements in its surroundings to reintegrate it into the community, such as the creation of a park, bike path, outdoor movie theater, cafes, restaurants, and commercial spaces.

With this project, EBP Brasil is contributing to a significant positive impact on the population's quality of life, reinforcing our commitment to the environment and the resilience of the City of São Paulo.
